Alan Finkel's National Hydrogen Strategy was backed by State and Federal Ministers this week. The strategy acknowledges the need for investment in renewable hydrogen technologies and the unique opportunity for Australia to become a major exporter of green hydrogen.
Supporting the development of a competitive hydrogen industry in Australia was on the agenda at last week’s COAG meeting, Ministers agreed to back Alan Finkel’s National Hydrogen Strategy, which will support the development of a clean, innovative, competitive, technology-neutral and safe hydrogen industry. There is a need for investment in renewable energy technologies to support “green hydrogen” and position Australia as a major player in the hydrogen economy.
Southern Green Gas is investing in the technology to become leaders in the green hydrogen economy, using existing gas networks and infrastructure to transport the fuel in the form of methane to market. There is an opportunity for Australia to become a major exporter of green hydrogen to meet the growing demand of trading partners that are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
